Historic Monkey Mountain - Colobus Monkey/Klipspringer/Rock Hyrax Exhibit

July 27th, 2010.
Cleveland Zoo's Monkey Island no longer has rock hyrax. They should make it into a kopje exhibit, with meerkats, rock hyrax, and klipspringer antelope, but they would have an empty meerkat exhibit at African Elephant Crossing if they moved the meerkats to the kopje. They should make the meerkat exhibit into a Kirk's dik-dik enclosure. The colobus should be moved to Columbus or somewhere and the Persian leopard moved to PCA, where the cheetahs are now, and bring the cheetahs down and put them where the leopard is, or demolish Monkey Island and the leopard for the rhinos.

Some day Monkey Island will be a Kopje in the middle of a expanded Black Rhino exhibit. It's very unlikely it will ever be demolished. For one thing its very iconic and another very expensive to get rid of.
