I wholeheartedly agree. While Columbus Zoo's Asia Quest set of habitats has many average to good enclosures, I personally think that the sun bear exhibit is the crown jewel. I'm not sold on the indoor "factory" area, but the outdoor habitat is brilliant and one of the best around. I've never visited the Oakland Zoo, but there is a massive sun bear enclosure at that zoo that perhaps could also be ranked as one of the best in North America.
