The wall is, thematically, part of the entrance to "the National Park" section. But functionally, it is the enclosure wall that separates the lion exhibit from the "Watering Hole."
I'm curious as to how other zoochatters feel about this wall. I'm not a big fan of man-made things in animal exhibits,unless they are used by the animals. This serves no purpose whatsoever for the animals as far as I can tell,and seems out of place in a lion exhibit.

As stated above, the plane's wing is air conditioned so in the summer, the lions will lay there while visitors are in the plane. Essentially it's a remake of the stereotypical "Jeep immersion."
