Como Zoo 2010 - Another part of Amur Tiger exhibit

Another part of Amur Tiger exhibit.
So you can see the tigers from above the house and out of it? Or what is behind the glas?

That looks really nice. Is Como Zoo the one in St Paul, Minnesota? If so, then the twin cities residents (Minneapolis-St Paul) have two outstanding amur tiger exhibits.

I also would like to know if the glass is a lower level viewing.

And what is in the mesh exhibit in the back of the photo?

Both from top of the cat complex (where the woman is standing) and through the glass, inside it is the corridor leading past the indoor exhibits, I have uploaded one or two nice photos which should give you the image.

Minnesota is a prime state for seeing Amur Tigers actually. This exhibit is 30 years old but excellent even to this day. However, it comes nowhere close to the outstanding exhibit over at the MZ.

Arizona Docent, I only saw your post when I had responded to Animal's.

Indeed, the twin cities have indeed two excellent tiger exhibits. Yes, Como is over in St. Paul. I would suggest spending a morning there (it is not too big) and then venture over to MZ for the rest of the day PLUS at least another day. I spent two days at the MZ and could have stayed longer. I know you like to photograph Felines so believe me when I say that MZ would be your version of heaven in those matters.

Oh yes, the long and narrow mesh exhibit in the back housed Snow Leopard (didn't see any though) and if I remember correctly, Cougar as well. Which of course means that it was split in half.

I actually have been to Minnesota Zoo (but not Como). This was before their tiger exhibit (which is excellent) was redone to add a glass section for closer viewing and before Russia's Grizzly Coast with amur leopards and before their Minnesota Trail was redone.

I would love to go to both zoos in the winter for shots of those cats in snow. (Well, actually I would love and hate it. Love the photo opportunities, but hate the cold - I am a complete wimp in that regard, which is why I live in the desert.).
