Empty Exhibit

July 18th, 2012.
Do you think that despite an overhaul of this exhibit, if it stays the same size, would it be suitable to house Amur Leopards?

No, but a smaller feline might work. In all honesty the zoo should just bulldoze this area and save the chain-link fence for off-exhibit housing.

Unfortunately, the Canada Lynx won't move in this enclosure, and Beeze the Bobcat will remain an animal ambassador. I believe there are plans to knock down the old holding, add new viewing areas, and make the area more appropiate for leopards, and hopefully expand the exhibits. Other potential species were Snow Leopards, although the best choices were probably Red Pandas and Wolverines. At least their Asian collection will get expanded. I will try to find out more tomorrow.
