The thing is when I went in November there was a male turkey in the barn in an exhibit right next to the Barn Owl. He may not be there now, but he definetly was there at some point.
It was, I got it mixed up with Central Park, my bad. Nope, I thought the zoo still had Narragansett and the exhibit was pretty dark (because of the Barn Owls) so I didn't even bother trying.
Yesterday, I was told this bird was actually a female Domestic Turkey. She was kept as a pet but was donated to the zoo last fall. The zoo tried to release her on grounds, but she was imprinted on humans, and pecked on visitors' arms, especially near their freckles, hence her name, "Freckles." For her sake and the sake of visitors, she was put on this exhibit.
