There was a couple of recent threads discussing AZA accreditation and how only around 10% of all North American zoos and aquariums are accredited. Those 220 institutions are accredited for a reason, and Cougar Mountain Zoo is NOT accredited. Glancing through the 65 photos in the ZooChat gallery it is immediately obvious why this zoo is not accredited, as very few good zoos are not involved with the AZA program. These two lemur cages are not an off-exhibit area but in reality the entire area devoted to the primates!
Although this doesn't change the quality of the exhibit but lemurs along with pottos, galagos, and lorises are part of the prosimian family, not categorized as monkeys nor as apes.
