Three-toed Sloths are among the main mammal rarities on exhibit. They do not have an exhibit but are allowed to climb in the canopy for much of the day under the supervision of a junior keeper.

Three-toed Sloths are among their mammal rarities. They do not have an exhibit but are allowed to climb in the canopy for much of the day under the supervision of a junior keeper.
 
Indeed; Sloths are ususally among the least exciting animals you see in zoos, normally Two-toeds sleeping in a tree, but here I had a rare Three-toed not in an exhibit and quite close to me. It goes without saying that it was a memorable experience!
 
Wow his face looks like something out of a cartoon. So adorable.

True; Sloths are usually not the most memorable animals from a day in the zoo but I'm glad that my closest and most memorable experience was with something as rare as a Three-toed.
 
What species of three toe is this? Do you know how often it hangs out?
