The last cage in the nursery held two clouded leopard (Neofelis nebulosa) cubs. The Olmense Zoo has bred clouded leopards at least twice now. The Olmense Zoo has a history of hand-rearing (big) cat cubs. In the past, they hand-reared basically every cub. Today, some are allowed to stay with their mothers, but I have still seems several cubs are hand-reared every years. I have visited the Olmense Zoo 6 times over the last 6 years and in those visits I have seen tigers, mountain lions, clouded leopards as well as arctic foxes and eagle-owls being hand-reared. During my April 19th, 2015 visit there was also a juvenile mountain lion in another cage. Unfortunately, the cage holding the two clouded leopard cubs had very bad reflection in the window, and making a good picture of the cubs was nearly impossible. It looked like a female staff member's handbag was being used as a sleeping nest for the cubs.
