How does this exhibit element work? Do they have announced crane fly-overs of the exhibit, or do they do it at random intervals to surprise people? Are there other free-flight bird species in addition to the crowned cranes?

At random intervals. I work in the savanna and don't even know when they will be. Right now it is just the EACCs, but they have talked about Marabou Storks and Fish Eagles.

Yes, I was lucky enough to be standing next to jbnbsn99 when they announced it on the radio, so he told me to run over there if I wanted to see it. There were two crowned cranes they used and each did two flights.
