Bird World Entrance Hall

judging solely by these photos (which may not be fair of course), but this is just nasty. More like a reptile house than a bird house, or more aptly very like a line of museum display cases. It makes me think they were trying to do a Bronx Zoo style Bird House but without the money to do it properly.

Some exhibits are kinda small but for the smaller bird species that live in them I think it is o.k. Plus this was made quite some time ago and has been refurnished multiple times. If it also helps the Bird World will be remade and and extended.

There is no question that this building was modeled after the Bronx's World of Birds, but the initial execution was not as good, nor have subsequent renovations matched the major upgrades of the Bronx facility, which when it opened was widely considered the best bird exhibit in the world. It should be said that most of the exhibits in the Denver building are much bigger and nicer than this "jewelbox" area, which was intended to be an introduction to bird diversity.
