The black rhino pair will, once renovated, get the old Elephant yard and maybe the old tapir yard. The nile hippos, one son and one 55 year old father, will keep their existing exhibit but also the existing black rhino exhibit.

The zoo just announced yesterday that this information is indeed correct, which is not really a surprise to anyone. Basically the "Pachyderms" building will be divided into two, as well as the outdoor enclosures, and the Nile hippos will have half the space and the black rhinos will have the rest. Work will start in the fall on this latest construction project by Denver Zoo.
