One thing that is really exciting about this building is the sheer variety of not only the species on display (including several rarities) but also the style of exhibitry that is showcased throughout the structure. There is a "ruined temple" section, several immersive mud-bank style exhibits, aquariums set into the walls in a more traditional layout, as well as wire, mesh, glass and open-topped exhibits around every corner. When the Tropical Discovery building opened in 1993, Denver Zoo's list of animals essentially doubled!
