baby hippo

Wallace the hippo in his nursery. This past summer they completed his new 1 acre enclosure.

I remember him from tv on nat geo wild.

I also remember Wallace and the short lived show about the DeYoung Famiy Zoo.

I saw one episode of this show. I've never been so annoyed by a show about zoos (or any reality tv for that matter). The two owners were so unbearable that I considered switching it off.

Is this the baby hippo that came from Indonesia? His cage was pretty tiny so I'm glad to hear that he's moved into a bigger exhibit.

His original exhibit wasn't more than a waterhole surrounded by brick walls.

it was my impression the zoo doesn't gets a lot of people, like most major zoos that can afford massive enclosures. we have a zoo here in Tampa. Mind u we have pygmy's at Lowry park, but their pen is smaller then Wallace's. For Wallace, they were planning to build a hippo house that they finished by winter, if i recall right. You sure your not thinking of the crate he was shipped in? He was a baby at the time of the show.
