I visited this Michigan zoo a couple of years ago and I was surprised to find a Nile Hippo exhibit set deep in the zoo and surrounded by thick forest. The land area is great but I'm curious as to what kind of filtration system the facility uses for the pool.
@snowleopard According to the owners, their pools have so much duckweed (that green plant that floats on the surface) that they don't need to clean it very often. Is there any truth to this?
