I still maintain that Disney has the #2 best gorilla habitat after the Bronx's Congo Gorilla Forest. The photo on this thread shows less than half of the overall habitat, and only about 20% of the entire area for gorillas in the zoo's two enclosures. Brilliant exhibit!
I still tend to rate Seattle as #2 and San Diego as #3. This would fill the #4 slot, and it is definitely a brilliant ultra-natural habitat. (Obviously, without question Bronx is #1)
This exhibit (one of 2 for gorillas at the park) reminds me of the Bronx's Congo Gorilla Forest because it is impossible to tell where the back of the enclosure ends. There are obviously fences, walls or gates beyond the grassy ridge, but the illusion is fantastic.
The exhibit on the east side (the bachelor group) is visible from both Pangani Forest and the backside is visible from the exit of Kilimanjaro Safaris.
How many exhibits are there and does anyone have a approximated square footage of each exhibits or the total? When I was at DAK, I didn't have a chance to go through Pangani-lazy family. I also learned today that Bronx's habitats are only 22,000 and 28,000 square feet, which is far short of how large I thought they were.
