It is great to see such a wonderfully rocky exhibit, and when I visited the zoo it was difficult to spot the ibex because they were so high up in their steep enclosure. Too many zoos have flat plains with a pile of concrete rocks making up a subpar ibex habitat, when in reality the species requires much more than that in an enclosure.
I just wish we still had our herd of Ibex at Dallas. Up until a few years ago there was a herd of 20 or so living in the Mountain Habitat making it a really great exhibit. Sadly, I never got any pics of it.
