The European Area in Planckendael. This is the smallest of the areas in the park housing native European wildlife. The small hut with adjacent outdoor exhibit houses European badgers (Meles meles meles) and northern raccoons (Procyon lotor). While the raccoon is not a native European species it has established wild populations in Central and Northern Europe.
