I just love this photo and this photo series! They are just like two school boys sneaking into the neighbour's yard to steal apples from his apple tree!
That is why they were allowed to climb it. It was scheduled to remove the tree, so the decision was made to allow them to play with it before it is removed. That is mother and daugther.
