  • Media owner Toddy
  • Date added
Part of the exhibition about European white storks (Ciconia ciconia) inside the African Village in the African Area in Planckendael. This sign show six differences that can means the difference between whether or nor storks can live there. Planckendael is home to a huge number of wild white storks, most of them descended from captive storks from the park, and their nests can be seen all over the park.
About half of Planckendael’s storks migrate south during the winter and the park’s most successful conservation project is the re-establishment of wild white stork populations in Belgium.

Planckendael, July 2011.
