Arizona Docent 3 May 2015 Fossil Rim has huge herds of both fallow deer and axis deer (but more fallow). I agree with you, the latter are the more handsome species.

Are most of the fallow deer of the spotted variety like this? Or are there quite a few white and dark colored ones?
