African Wild Dog Exhibit

Does this exhibit now hold Spotted Hyenas? How long has that species been at the zoo?

This is now the spotted hyena exhibit. There are no longer wild dogs at the zoo.
According to the zoo's website the hyenas arrived in 2014.

Thanks for the information. How many American zoos have sent away their African Wild Dogs in the past several years? Woodland Park, Franklin Park, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Oglebay's Good Zoo, etc...

Then again, several zoos have added African Wild Dogs to their collection with new exhibits. Cincinnati, Pueblo, Houston, etc...

According to Franklin Park's website they decided to send their wild dog to Cincinnati when they got down to one individual.

Disney's Animal Kingdom recently opened a wild dog exhibit (which alternates with spotted hyenas also).

Could this be due to the incident at Pittsburgh a couple of years ago when that toddler was savaged by their pack? A bit of a knee jerk reaction which is now being overcome?

Maybe we'll see zoos changing gorilla exhibits for orangs in the wake of the Harambe incident at Cincinnati? I seriously doubt it though, gorillas are far more well known than hunting dogs!
