Is it true that the zoo is left with an elderly grizzly in this old enclosure? Is there a definite plan of what to put in the exhibit when the bear eventually dies?
It is correct that there is an elderly grizzly in this enclosure. I don't know that they have officially announce that they will shut down this exhibit when the bear dies, but I cannot imagine that they would put another bear in here as it is quite small. I don't think that grizzly bears are part of their new master plan.
There was a pair of grizzlies in here at one time and one of their claims to fame was that they tested out bear proof containers for the National Park Service.
