Tropical Rain Forest

Aug. 8th, 2011.
Doesn't this bring back happy memories of the bridge scene in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"?

At least there aren't any hungry crocodiles waiting for you at the bottom of this gorge. You might get nibbled by a sunbittern or an iguana though.

It kind of takes me back to the bridge at Disneyland's Tom Sawyer Island. :)

One of the major disappointments for me was the animals in the movie were actually American alligators!

Oh its not just animals, just see what happens when I notice big sagebrush in what is supposed to be Texas!

Remind me not to go to the movies with you! :D

The one that always gets me is when ancient Roman or mediaeval European/Middle Eastern characters have pet Amazon parrots or squirrel monkeys. I seem to recall even the superb HBO/BBC Rome series got caught out on that one.

I like the kookaburra calls in every jungle in the world. Also New Zealand cabbage trees and flax seem to be ubiquitous in the world's rainforests now!

The best one perhaps is Anaconda 2, set in Borneo! (Also showing in passing, a tiger and howler monkeys. I think there was a capuchin in there as well?).

And anywhere in the world there is any freshwater at all has Pacific Tree Frogs. ;)
