This recent development won an AZA award and appears to be fantastic. However, I'm a big fan of Sea Lion Sound at Saint Louis Zoo (more water, more animals, really cool underwater tunnel, etc) but I'm excited to see the Fresno Chaffee complex at some point in my life.
With this and the new savanna, you will not be disappointed. They may also have a new tiger exhibit and a further Africa expansion with hippos by the time you get there.
I may stop by here on my next trip south; the African Savanna looks really nice. If I had my druthers though, California zoo's would stop dedicating a bunch of money to sea lion exhibits. We have them outside. A lot of them.
There are other, more preferable species that money could be spent on. I'd like to see a lot more primate species.
