Former hoofstock yard, future aquatics expansion

One thing for hoofstock to loose ground for elephants, but for fish too?

Hoofstock didn't loose any ground for elephants. Elephants are long gone here. Keeper told me that this was 1/2 of the Bongo yard. Bongos still had a decent sized yard.

The zoo used to have elephants where the camels currently are, in the enclosure with the ugly, weird, bizarre cement "tree".

As in country wide phenomenon of hoofstock enclosures disappearing to build new elephant exhibits. I am well aware of the zoo's history.

I sure hope they won't take in elephants again, at least not at the expense of their ungulate collection, so impressive. I made a list and it makes my mouth water, so happy that I got to see this place (I had to fly both ways via Houston so fortunately I ended up liking the place)
