Bushbock, Gladys Porter Zoo Brownsville

When was this photo taken? Is Gladys Porter Zoo the only zoo outside Africa which exhibit this species currently?

I've made this picture in 2002. I've heared, there is a private holder of Bushbuck in the USA, but I don't know, if this is true.

And yes, the Gladys Porter Zoo is probably the last zoo outside of africa with that species. I've seen another one in 2002 at the L.A Zoo, but this animals isn't alive yet.

And avery beautyful antelope. I can't decide, which antelope species is the most beautyful. It's a shame, that bushbuck are dissappeared from the collections, but it is no endangerd species.

according to the Antelope Specialist thing it says that they're being phased out in North American collections. So once they're gone at Gladys Porter that's it.

Thaid said also, that mountain tapirs are being phased out in North america, but I've heared, L.A dosn't care about that and is is still breeding them. The same with Bay duikers, Bronx is still breeding them.

The bushbuck is held by a private holder. They are in on of Brad Kelley's collections, not sure where. They were at Peace River now probably in Texas.

Great pic, I'm planning to go to see them by the end of the summer.

I think the LA zoo does want to keep the mountain tapir in it's collection because they are going to build a state of the art exhibit that will let keep and breed more tapirs. The LA zoo has also helped San Francisco zoo, Langley, and Cheyenne Mountain zoo with the breeding of their tapirs, so it seems as the LA zoo wants them to stay in North America.

The montain tapirs at Cheyenne has bred just one time, do anybody know why they didn't bred again, and whats with the mountain tapirs at San Francisco, is the femalee pregnant ?
