Jaguar Brothers

Aug. 4th, 2015.
You do not see this at the typical zoo jaguar exhibit!

Approximately 325 different zoos later and I finally saw big cats climbing up chain-link fencing...which was a bit of a scary sight. To be honest the two Jaguars jumped up to a certain point and they could climb on the fencing but it was a struggle for them to get a grip. Incidentally, of the more than 50 cats at this park these two Jaguars are just about the only ones that the owner does not go in with as they were not raised by humans. I had two tour guides and they both said that the owner loves to surprise guests by talking about how dangerous big cats are and then he'll go into an enclosure and literally tackle a tiger! Apparently he wrestles with some of the cats and there has been footage taken of him riding a tiger like it was a horse around an exhibit. His record is a full lap of the enclosure but the guide told me that the owner will only climb onto a tiger that weighs at least 450 pounds so that the cat is able to support the weight.
