North American River Otter Exhibit - Future Plans

Even the current exhibit seems pretty good (based on your photos). This new exhibit should be really nice. Any timeline on when they will do it?

The current exhibit is very impressive considering that it was built in 1983, although the main focus of the renovation is adding glass viewing walls instead of the cement ones that can be seen in this photo:

The article below discusses the $500,000 overhaul of the exhibit, and according to the museum's website the new habitat will be open to the public on May 21st. The pool will be larger, an otter slide will be added, glass viewing walls will make it easier for kids to see the animals, as well as some behind-the-scenes improvements and additional space for potentially adding a third otter one day. The most exciting news is that the long-range plan is to add an adjoining beaver habitat that would allow the beavers access to trees for dam-building purposes.
