Otters in general usually receive very good exhibits in American zoos, and there are innumerable top-notch otter enclosures around the United States with underwater viewing. Some zoos have more than one species as the animals are consistently popular, fairly energetic, and great mammals to have on display. Does anyone know if Utah once considered having sea otters in Rocky Shores instead of river otters?
None of the plans released to the public ever included Sea Otters. The original plan released had Polar Bears, Harbor Seals, Arctic Wolves, and Snowy Owls. A second version took out the Arctic Wolves and Snowy Owls, and added Bald Eagles, Fishers or Wolverines and River Otters. The final version removed the Fishers or Wolverines.
This looks like a great otter habitat. With the logs and walls that look like a riverbank, it actually looks similar Buffalo's Otter Creek if you ask me.
