A sign on this exhibit seen on another photo shows a Leopard label but the cat definetly is a Jaguar. It is sleeping in the left corner. A much larger Jaguar exhibit is around the corner.

Wow, you're right, I never noticed this. I was even there last week and paid no attention to it.

So you say this is not a temporary measure? It sure will not help those without our trained eye who think a cat with spots has to be a leopard.
 
There was another post on this. If it is the same cat that PolarBear saw, it is actually a leopard-jaguar crossbreed that they got from a closed sanctuary. Lives with a black leopard, so they just put up a sign for leopard for both.

An interesting solution to an odd problem then.
