Maned Wolf/Giant Anteater Exhibit

July 25th, 2015.
When I was at Phoenix Zoo a few days ago, I happened to be at the exhibit at the same time the keeper was in with the maned wolf cleaning the exhibit. I saw an anteater in an adjacent yard (with no access) but the signs for both species were on the main exhibit. The keeper explained that the anteater in the distant yard is a young male that stays there, but an older male does go into the maned wolf yard later in the day and they are in together. As someone has said, she confirmed the anteater is the dominant species and the wolf stays clear. Even the keeper does not go in when the anteater has access, but is in the exhibit with the wolf.
