I was standing here with the co-author of "America's Best Zoos" (Allen Nyhuis) in the summer of 2008, and he was telling me that he'd never once seen a tiger in the water at his local Indianapolis Zoo. Hundreds of visits without a tiger in the water, and then 30 seconds later a tiger emerged from the back of the enclosure and proceeded to go swimming!
Just a side note I was curious as to why tigers need pine trees and started reading the sign. I got about half way though and stopped reading it after Russia has one of the largest forests in the world. The sign is too long and im afraid, even with me wanting to read it, my attention span is just too short to continue reading after finding out why pine is needed for tigers in the first half.
