The exhibit is quite large and I have no problem with the amount of space that is there for the single gorilla. However, does it even remotely resemble a primate habitat? Hopefully things change in the future for the great ape.
Thanks for the photo okapikpr! It's quite a shock to see the relatively barren field that is there at the moment, but hopefully the zoo gets some more gorillas in there and actually constructs something for them to elevate themselves on.
It has loads of shade and looks like a decent size, but all the trees are hotwired and it doesn't look like there'd be anything for the apes to do in there.
Is there only 1 gorilla?
Hopefully the enclosure was ony temporarily empty and looking like a hoofstock exhibit, but there was still only the one male gorilla in a large, "soccer-field-type" paddock.
