Bonobos

Dec 2008.
The worst thing about Bonobos in Zoos is they nearly always seem to be(at least) partially bald. I believe this stems from overgrooming(not plucking themselves like Gorillas) due to their highly socially developed lifestyle, and the extra time for grooming that captive life allows. Many young Bonobos in particular suffer from bald heads- where their mothers have overgroomed the nearest point.

That what happen to one the Zoo's bonobo baby, Kaleb(sadly passed away). He and some others were bald.
