@KCZooFan: Thanks for the updates, as the first handful of zoos on my epic road trip I didn't take that many photos of animal signs, while later on I have photos of almost every exhibit with signage next to it. The map at Kansas City Zoo is terrible for accuracy, as it doesn't have outlines of every exhibit and it doesn't specify what subspecies many of the animals are. The map will have "lemur, tiger, leopard, baboon, etc", but it won't say which species and I only know from memory.
@snowleopard: No problem! I can see how that would be a problem, their map is pretty terrible. The only reason I can remember all of this stuff is becaue I go there every saturday. I have been waiting for your pictures of KC for a while, so I am pretty excited to see them. Can't wait to see your pics of St. Louis too.
I also agree the map is very bad, especially in Africa. It really only details the larger exhibits, and the signage is not always up to date. I think the plains signage only states the oryx and kudu. The plains in the past had impala, thompson's gazelle, and I believe sable antelope. It currently has common eland and springbok in addition to the kudu and oryx.
