This exhibit was built in 1951 and while the pool is fairly large it has served its purpose and I would personally like to see the zoo explore options in regards to constructing a new habitat. Other than the addition of stadium seating in 1997 the sea lion pool has basically remained the same for over 60 years!
Green water just contains algae and so isn't necessarily a sign of bad filtration - it probably is a sign that they aren't using harsh chemicals as part of it, which is ecologically responsible.
