On my visit I noticed an empty black rhino exhibit, an adjacent enclosure with two aging elephants (they possibly will be sent to another zoo in the future) and a single giraffe in an outdated complex. If the zoo could raise enough funds then the entire large mammal area could be turned into something modern as there is clearly a wealth of space and a lack of marquee animals. It doesn't help that the large mammal section of the zoo is one of the first things that visitors see when they enter.
