This building was constructed in 1936 and for almost 80 years the tiny, badly outdated primate exhibits have remained almost identical. It is kind of like venturing into a time machine to tour parts of this zoo.
It is a Works Progress Administration building, but that wouldn't stop it being altered to become a cafe, museum, reptile house, etc. The walk-through aviary is okay, the reptile/amphibian section is basic but extensive...but it is the primate cages that are horrendously outdated. Check out my review for a list of the numerous species in this large structure.
