The exhibit used to have some trees in the exhibit, but they had to be cut down because they were victims of termites. The zoo was scared that one day the trees could fall on the giraffes or even worst, the visitors.

This is a pic showing some trees, and there was more trees to the left of the pic that are not visible. If you look at the darkest giraffe in the back, that is Kito, one of the most prolific breeding male as he fathered 20 calves. The zoo used to exhibit both Gerenuk and Giraffe together.
I think i'd rate this exhibit higher than the giraffe exhibit at Memphis Zoo which is basically just a little dust pit with nothing whatsoever.This exhibit is at least slightly appealing
