Most of these Interactive signs are now gone. Only the one outside the Aldabra Tortoise exhibit is still there.
 
I thought they might be gone. Which is why I thought some people might appreciate seeng them again, for nostalgic purposes. And those who haven't seen them before might appreciate them. I thought they were really good because they were so different to everything else that was around in the eighties, they were simple, and the kids liked playing with them.
 
Well this is an interesting topic to discuss with children:

"So Males Know When Females Are Ready To Breed"
 
That is actually the answer to the question posed at the top of the graphic:

"Why are some monkey bottoms big and swollen?"

A common question posed around primate exhibit (although generally not asked in such a polite fashion).
 
Yes.

Although it wasn't something that grows, if you know what I mean. On the rotating piece were three separate images of a swollen pink backside, each a different size. When the big red arrow lined up with one of the smaller red arrows, the correct size was showing. Which is why the monkey doesn't appear to have a swollen bum at all, the arrows aren't lined up, so there is no bum visible.
