Indeed a White woodpecker, a male - it has a yellow "collar" which the female doesn't have - at least not when she is adult - in juveniles both male and females have this yellow collar.
In the 1980-ties it was one of the more commonly kept woodpeckers in Europe and bred succesfully at several collections. I took care for it at Walsrode at that time.
