Congo Peafowl aviary

January 2009-According to ISIS, the zoo is home to only one female.
I don't know what happened to the female Congo Peafowl, but there is now two Lady Ross's Turacos living in the exhibit.

That's a very recent change. In early March, the female was still on display but when I last visited 2 weeks ago, the infamous "Exhibit Temporarily Closed" sign was out. And it was just earlier this year that I saw both the male and female still there. I hope this isn't the end of the road for Congo Peafowl at the Los Angeles Zoo. That would be a real shame.

I agree that it will be a shame if the zoo decides not to exhibit Congo Peafowl. According to ISIS, there is still 16.14.2 with 4 recent births in US Zoos.

Apparently the exhibit for Congo Peafowl was only closed temporarily. I didn't spy the female but the Exhibit Closed sign has been removed, and the plant growth is quite dense in there. Hopefully back on display again and hiding.

Well, last time I was there I could only see the pair of Lady Ross's Turaco, but I haven't been able to see the Congo Peafowl. The weird thing is that the Congo Peafowl sign is still on the exhibit, so maybe the zoo will still exhibit them.
