Grevy's Zebra exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo

Blackduiker

Exhibit history time! This particular exhibit when opened in 1966 contained Greater Kudu and Secretary Birds. It later was used as a mixed American Bison/Pronghorn exhibit, along with Cinnamon Teal and Wild Turkeys. I remember watching the Turkeys jump out of the exhibit while the male was in pursuit of the females. It later reverted back to African animals, mainly more common varieties of Zebra. This is the second group of Grevy's Zebra to be displayed here.

Cool!

I wish the zoo would bring back Secretary Birds.

Also, what used to live where the current black bears live?

That exhibit use to hold several species of wild Asian Sheep. Most memorable were the original occupants, Mouflon. Lots of Mouflon!
