Mountain Tapir

This is one of LA Zoo's Mountain Tapirs. A female I elieve, She moved to Either Sacramento Zoo or Langley.
I'm not sure which female this is, but I think this is the one that moved to San Francisco last year.

I wish the zoo did more mixed species exhibits.

A few months back, I believe in a Zooscape statement by director John Lewis, that future plans called for a possible mixed Maned Wolf/Baird's Tapir exhibit by removal of the wall that divides the two enclosures.
Of course this is now highly unlikely anytime soon, with the announcement of the Giant Otters to be placed in the same Tapir enclosure mentioned above. I can't for the life of me see a Giant Otter/Maned Wolf mix taking place. Does anyone know of such a pairing at any other institutions?

Seems very unlikely--the otters would tear the wolves from limb to limb, I would guess.

Are the Giant Otters moving there temporarily until the South America Rainforest exhibit is built, or has that project bitten the dust?

Just temporary, the Rainforest exhibit is still very much on track.
