China exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo

The sign infront of the entrance is covered with paper. There are also two signs outside the exhibit that will tell the guest about the animals they will be seing when entering the exhibit.

The rumor around the zoo is that it will be Francois' Langurs mixed in with Reeves' Muntjacs and Golden Pheasants. The zoo wants to keep the chinese theme since around the corner from this exhibit will be the chinese viewing area for Pachyderm Forest, which will also include exhibits for Sarus Cranes and Chinese Water Deer.

Well, it's not golden snub-nosed monkeys, but that's still a pretty good exhibit.

I'll settle for Francois' Langurs any day. If the rumors are true, hopefully they will be received in the next month or two, so they can make quarantine by the end of summer. It's been quite a few years since any Langur species were displayed in L.A.

Let's finally get this exhibit open!

When was the last time the LA Zoo had langurs? and what species was it?

I can remember them exhibiting, I believe Silver Langurs back in the 1970s and early '80s. I don't believe they were very successful breeding them though. The roundhouse they were exhibited in no longer exists. It was somewhere between the current Sumatran Tiger and Snow Leopard enclosures.
