Giant Otter

Well the pool seems to serve its purpose, especially since she spends so much time outside of it. Maybe I'll have more luck with her being out and active on my next visit. This is only a temporary exhibit until the Rainforest of the Americas habitat is completed in 2011.

Wouldn't it be nice to see the South American section of the zoo remodeled after the completion of the rainforest, to create more space for say, Mountain and Baird's Tapirs? Maybe even a large aviary for the Andean Condors as well. And how about a much larger Maned Wolf enclosure? Even add some Rheas once more. We haven't had Rheas for years.

I've always wondered what they would do with the South American section once Rainforest of the Americas opens.

So have I. Those are just some of my suggestions, since they recently had considered removing the wall between the Maned Wolf/Baird's Tapir enclosures to create a mixed species habitat. Lots of possibilities, but the Koala House still awaits a new makeover as well.

I've heard that the Brush-tailed Bettongs and Echidnas are currently living inside the Koala House. It would be great if they would open it once again.
