Aviary Entrance

Hopefully the zoo will renovate these aviaries in the near future and add a better collection of birds. They could also make it so that one aviary has only african species, and the other one only asian species.

You wouldn't believe the flocks of birds that would greet you in these two aviaries. Their bird collection was astounding at one time.

Yeah, I was reading that at one point in the early 90s, the zoo has the 2nd or 3rd largest collection of birds in the US.

It certainly looks dense and lush inside.

For a time, there were even Two-toed Sloths and Green Iguanas roaming this aviary. It's been some years now though. There were also small Alligators or Caimans in the pond, though I can't remember which now.

The first aviary houses african species (and some nicobar pigeons) while the other houses australian birds.
