LA Zoo entrance

Another vintage zoo postcard featuring the entrance of the Los Angeles Zoo. Back of card reads:

ZOO GATE. Opened in 1966, the new 113 acre (45 1/2 h) Los Angeles Zoo is divided into five geographical areas - Africa, Eurasia, North America, South America and Australia with an Aquatic section, Reptile House, Aviary and walk-through Flight Cage. Another feature is the large Children's Zoo with a nursery where Zoo babies may be seen being hand raised. Because of the moderate Southern California climate, the Los Angeles Zoo is open every day of the year except Christmas

Ah, yes, having grown up in Los Angeles I remember this old entrance well. If you watch reruns of the tv show "Three's Company," you can see it on the opening credits.
