Crowned Crane enclosure in one of the old round houses. Los Angeles Zoo was full of these round houses, built in the 1960s. While the enclosures are not too bad, the houses themselves were often dilapidated and in need of renovation.

A vast improvement over the cranes being here. I never cared for them being in this limited space for flight. A large outdoor exhibit would have suited them better, or one of the aviaries that has housed a successful breeding pair for years.
True, they don't belong in this tiny space, but it is all right for a small cat, civet or another small carnivore type, provided the space is made more naturalistic with plants, water and such.

See mstickmanp's excellent photographs of this newly renovated Serval space, in the Los Angeles Zoo photo gallery, here at ZooChat. A vast improvement over the cranes being there.
